A proud highlight for the QIA family this year has been the participation of our own youth department staff, Becky Kilabuk and Thomas Johnston in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Our young superstars were chosen out of thousands to represent Inuit and Nunavut. They were greeted with standing ovations as they shared Inuit cultural arts such as throat singing and Inuit games. Their excitement and showmanship drew people from all over the world creating line-ups for several blocks, to see their demonstrations. Thomas and Becky both feel that the 2010 Olympics were an excellent opportunity to showcase for the world stage the strong identity, creativity and pride of Inuit.
