The Qikiqtani Inuit Association believes that more ports in places such as Qikiqtarjuaq would greatly grow the fishing sector in Nunavut and stimulate our economy. The Qikiqtaaluk Corporation is working with the hamlet to promote Qikiqtarjuaq in their efforts to host a Deep Water Port. This port would provide economic opportunities for the community. It is also ideally located to support the off-shore fishery and provide services to shipping in the area. QIA wants to invite the next government to do their part to build more infrastructure in Nunavut.
