The QIA sponsorship for the Nunavut Quest includes prize money, gasoline and oil support for snowmobiles, food for camps along the trail, compensation for timekeepers, a snowmobile support team, dogfood and veterinary services for participating teams and a community feast in Pond Inlet.

This was an especially exciting race this year with the assistance of High School students from Igloolik.  With support from the Ilagiiktunut Fund, the students travelled with the teams from Arctic Bay to Pond Inlet and did daily check ins with Nunatsiaq News.  Students also received credits towards their graduation.  We hope to continue this kind of experience for students in the Qikiqtani Region.

Thank you to all the volunteers, participants and community members that made the Nunavut Quest another success.  The ongoing legacy of Qimuksiqtiit in the Qikiqtani Region lives on in the Quest and we look forward to following the mushers next year from Pond Inlet to Igloolik
