Iqaluit, Nunavut – August 4, 2022 The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is now accepting proposals for the Qikiqtani Cultural Activities Program (QCAP) for 2022-2023.
Individual Inuit and community groups from any Qikiqtani community is invited to submit a proposal for projects that will run between October 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023.
QCAP provides funding for community-based projects that allow community members to participate in and learn traditional skills, such as sewing, harvesting, and on-the-land activities. QCAP is financed through QIA’s Benefits Fund.

Some examples of projects that have been accepted and completed in 2021-2022 year: Skinning tools and skinning preparation, winter fishing and musk ox hunting, fishing and pipsi making, parka making for hunters, traditional outwear making, amauti and parka making and kamik making.
