QIA Accepting 2021-2022 Scholarship applications

 In Media Releases

Iqaluit, Nunavut – August 10, 2021 – The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is accepting applications for both of our 2021-2022 post-secondary scholarships. Students can now apply using our unified online application form.

This is the fifth year QIA is offering $200,000 in scholarships to students from the Qikiqtani Region pursuing post-secondary education. There are eighty (80) $2500 scholarships each year, awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The $5,000 John Amagoalik Scholarship honours John Amagoalik’s efforts towards the betterment of Inuit in Nunavut. QIA will prioritize applications from post-secondary students entering a field that promotes Inuit language and culture.

“The QIA scholarships are helping more Qikiqtani students access post-secondary education,” says Acting QIA president Olayuk Akesuk. “These scholarships enable Qikiqtani Inuit students to lessen the burden of their educational expenses.”

The deadline for applications is Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

QIA invites students to use the online scholarship application to apply for one or both scholarships. Please note, to submit your application all supporting documents are required.
