Event: Compassionate and Bereavement Travel Programs

Iqaluit, Nunavut – June 29, 2021 – The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is reopening the Compassionate and Bereavement Travel Programs beginning June 29, 2021.

The Compassionate and Bereavement Travel Programs cover the costs so two family members can travel within Nunavut to attend a funeral or visit a close family member who is near death.

A family member under this program is designated as: a grandmother, grandfather, mother, father, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, sister, brother, and grandchildren.

Qikiqtani Inuit who wish to apply for these programs are encouraged to contact their Community Liaison Officer or by calling 1.800.667.2742.
