PSA: QIA Annual General Meeting and community feast in Iqaluit

The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is hosting its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and fall board meeting in Iqaluit. The AGM will be followed by a feast at Inuksuk High School including performances by Kamaalukutaat band as well as the Tumikuluit choir.
The agenda for this year’s AGM includes the tabling of QIA’s first Benefits and Legacy Fund report. The report showcases QIA’s revenue policy which created the Legacy Fund and the Benefits Fund in action, including reporting on the programs created under this fund, such as the Qikiqtani Cultural Activities Programs (Q-CAP) and QIA’s daycare subsidy.
This kind of reporting is a continuation of QIA’s dedication to financial accountability and transparency. QIA is committed to fiscal responsibility and prudent financial planning of funds intended to benefit Qikiqtani Inuit, in order to ensure that we not only have money for programs today but also resources available to serve Inuit tomorrow.

The community feast will include country food, door prizes including a pair of airline tickets and a candy toss.
