New QIA scholarships
QIA has allocated $200,000/year in new scholarships for Inuit students from the Qikiqtani region pursuing a post-secondary education. Each successful applicant is entitled to $2,500/academic year.
Criteria for the new QIA Scholarships:
- Applicants must have a valid Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. card
- Applicants must be Inuit under the Nunavut Agreement in the Qikiqtani Region
- Applicants must be students enrolled in a post-secondary academic institution

The John Amagoalik Scholarship
The John Amagoalik Scholarship is available to Inuit students from the Qikiqtani region pursuing post-secondary education. QIA will prioritize applications from post-secondary students entering a field that promotes Inuit language and culture.
The annual scholarship if for $5,000.00.
Criteria for the John Amagoalik Scholarship:
- Applicants must have a valid Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. card
- Applicants must be Inuit under the Nunavut Agreement in the Qikiqtani Region
- Applicants must be students enrolled in a post-secondary academic institution for the September and January semesters
- Preference is given to students enrolled in a program in a field that promotes Inuit language and culture
- Students must maintain a full course load and maintain a passing grade point average
