Iqaluit, Nunavut – November 16, 2020 – Notice is hereby given to the voting members of the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) that an election will be held on December 14, 2020.

The official list of Candidates is as follows:

To be eligible to vote you must be at least 16 years old on Election Day, an Inuk registered with Nunavut Tunngavik Inc., and have for at least twelve consecutive months preceding election day been a resident of the electoral community.

Polling stations will be open in all Qikiqtani communities from 10am to 7pm local time on December 7 for advance voting and on December 14, Election Day.

Members can also vote by Proxy. Applications available from your local CLO office, www.qia.ca or contacting the numbers listed below.

In addition to the usual planning for weather conditions for the vote in December, QIA will also have contingency plans for COVID-19. QIA will follow the guidelines of Nunavut’s Chief Public Health Officer to ensure the safety of all candidates, staff and voters.
