The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) today confirmed the results of the Igloolik by‐election to fill the community’s seat on the Board of Directors.

The winner of the by‐election was Zacharias Kunuk.

“As there has been no challenging of the results I declare Mr. Kunuk elected. He will serve as QIA’s Board of Directors representative for Igloolik until December 31, 2014,” said Chief Returning Officer Joanasie Akumalik.
