Nunavut Quest Starts Today

 In Media Releases

The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) wishes success to all taking part in this year’s Pangaggujjiniq Nunavut Quest, which begins today. The race will start in Arctic Bay and end a week later, weather permitting, in Igloolik.

“This is one of the most spectacular races in the world. It’s not just the challenges of the weather and the environment that makes it a great event; it’s also a fantastic celebration of Inuit culture. All Nunavummiut will be eagerly awaiting the results of the race and we wish the best of luck to all the competitors,” said President Okalik Eegeesiak.

Participants from four communities will be taking part this year. Pangaggujjiniq Nunavut Quest is truly a community event with the racer, elders, youth, support teams and others all getting involved. There is a sharing of knowledge and traditions as well the fun of the competition.

QIA is proud to have contributed towards the success of this year’s event.
