The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is seeking a highly collaborative, motivated individual with excellent organization and leadership skills to fulfill the Director of Administration role.

The Director of Administration provides critical operational, logistical and administrative oversight for the organization and provides administrative support that results in efficient and effective service delivery for all of QIA by directing several core function areas.

Reporting to the Assistant Executive Director, within the Department of Executive Management, the Director provides strong leadership in the areas of Board of Directors Governance, Security, Leasing & Records Management, Logistics, Office Supplies & Inventory, IT Services, Reception, Community Liaison Administration and general Office Administration. This role provides direction, leadership and guidance to ensures integral core services are available, efficient and effective.

This role requires an incumbent with highly developed organization skills, attention to detail, problem-solving skills with strong verbal communication skills in both English and Inuktitut.  Familiarity with Board Governance and Administrative best practices is needed to succeed in this role.  Experience working in office administration or office management is required.  Experience facilitating meetings or giving presentations to Senior Management is also required.  This position requires someone who has the ability to remain calm under pressure. Applicants must demonstrate 5 years of progressive management experience, including performance management of staff.

This position generally requires a college Diploma in Business Administration, Governance or related field. Project Management certification is an asset.  A combination of relevant education and experience may also be deemed an acceptable equivalency. An acceptable Criminal Record Check and clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

The salary range for this position is $139,349 to $204,379 per annum, plus a Northern Allowance of $27,600 per annum.
