 Position: Manager, Implementation of QTC Programs

Are you ready to lead transformative programming that reflects Inuit history rooted in the Qikiqtani Truth Commissions’ Final Report? The Manager, Implementation of Qikiqtani Truth Commission (QTC) Programs holds full appreciation of the value of Inuit culture and traditional knowledge.

The Manager, Implementation of QTC Programs oversees the development and delivery of programs and projects implemented as outlined in the QTC Final Report. The Manager is the principle contact for all QTC inquiries, Saimaqatigiingniq programs, and third party funded projects delivered by QIA, which are related to implementation of the QTC recommendations.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Department of Inuit Programs & Services, the Manager leads and participates in a variety of projects and assignments related to strategic program planning, implementing, and reporting. This involves assessing community requirements as they relate to programming goals advanced through the Saimaqatigiingniq Fund and other QIA programing initiatives. The Manager is also the primary point person designated to present recommendations, advice, and briefings to QIA senior management, regarding QTC-related programs and services for Qikiqtani Inuit. This position will represent QIA in multi-stakeholder working groups and committees.

This position requires familiarity with QIA programs, with a focus on Qikiqtani Truth Commission publications and recommendations. To be successful in this role, the incumbent will collaborate and engage with individuals, community groups, and Inuit organizations to best understand the factors which may impact QIA programs and service delivery. Well developed communication skills are required in this role, along with comfort in delivering workshops and public speaking. Ability to communicate in Inuktitut is required. Two years of experience in program delivery, including experience collaborating with stakeholders, resource coordination and monitoring of budgets. The Manager role is responsible for the delegation of duties and performance management of the Program Coordinators. Leadership experience and performance management of staff is a requirement for this role.

Generally, a post-secondary diploma in Social Sciences, such as Indigenous Relations, Psychology, Sociology, or Anthropology is required. A combination of relevant education and related experience may also be deemed an acceptable equivalency. Project Management Certification is a valuable asset.

The salary range for this position is $96,450 to $141,460 per annum, plus a Nunavut Northern Allowance of $27,600 per annum. A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required.
