Community Liaison Officer – Qikiqtarjuaq
The Community Liaison Officer (CLO) – Qikiqtarjuaq is a key operational role within Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) under the direction of the CLO Supervisor. The CLO is primarily an administrative position at the community level to ensure that Inuit in the communities benefit from QIA’s programs and work, the Nunavut Agreement (NA), and Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) programs. This position will support QIA’s requirement to have meaningful two-way communication with communities and Inuit.
The CLO will be relied upon to present recommendations, advice and information to the CLO Supervisor in order to support informed, inclusive and considerate decision-making.
The position is a generalist role which requires familiarity with a broad range of QIA documents, policies, and protocols in order for the incumbent to effectively execute the responsibilities and serve the purpose of the position. Detailed knowledge and understanding of the vision and principles that guide QIA are necessary to succeed in this job.
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, a combination of relevant education and/or experience may also be deemed acceptable. One (1) year of experience working in the delivery of community services is required. Experience with: project management, time management, and financial management is an asset.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are all requirements. Fluency in English and Inuktitut is a necessity. This position requires a valid Criminal Record Check (CRC).
