Community consultations on the interim management plan for Tallurutiup Imanga National Marine Conservation Area

(March 19, 2024 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA), the Government of Nunavut, and Parks Canada are requesting your input on the draft interim management plan for the Tallurutiup Imanga National Marine Conservation Area.

There will be community open houses in the below communities from 6:30 – 9 PM to review the draft interim management plan. During these sessions, we will be looking to make sure the comments you provided in 2018 and 2019 were accurately captured and that the plan addresses community priorities.

The open house is another opportunity for you to share your input and ensure individual community comments are reflective of the work we are doing. Everyone is encouraged to attend these open house sessions and we look forward to hearing your input on the draft interim management plan for Tallurutiup Imanga National Marine Conservation Area.

Any changes to the date or location will posted on the community Facebook page by Parks Canada.

Location/dates for community open houses:
Clyde River: Monday, March 18 at the school gym
Resolute Bay: Wednesday, March 20 at South Camp Inn meeting room
Grise Fiord: Friday, March 22 at the Community Hall gym
Pond Inlet: Monday, March 25 at Sauniq Hotel meeting room
Arctic Bay: Wednesday, March 27 at the C-Hall

Snacks will be provided and there will be door prizes
