The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) QIA is seeking a motivated and skilled Asset Manager in the Department of Marine & Wildlife.

The Asset Manager position will contribute to the successful implementation and delivery of the Nauttiqsuqtiit and conservation programs at Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) within the Department of Marine and Wildlife. This work is central to QIA’s mission of advancing the rights and benefits of Qikiqtani Inuit through protecting and promoting our social, political, economic, and cultural interests; while safeguarding the land, waters and resources that sustain our communities.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Inuit Stewardship Programs, the Asset Manager supports all elements of the Nauttiqsuqtiit and conservation programs by providing asset management plans, maintaining asset inventory, developing maintenance schedules, arranging procurement of assets and overseeing the asset budget.  This position will also oversee the procurement of assets through purchasing schedules, coordinating sealift and logistics, tracking purchases and initiating returns or claims. This role will be responsible for managing the asset budget, while adhering to QIA Financial Policies and Procurement procedures. This role will be responsible for documenting, reviewing and maintaining the asset records and this position is expected to work closely and collaboratively with the Regional Nauttiqsuqtiit Managers and departmental staff to ensure there is timely and up-to-date data for review, analysis, and decision making related to managing assets, optimizing performance and meeting current and future needs of QIA’s conservation programs.

Applicants will need knowledge of health and safety regulations, financial guidelines, the Nunavut Agreement and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit. Understanding the logistical challenges that exist within Nunavut is also required. The successful candidate will have 3 years of experience in asset or property management, with experience completing purchase orders, managing logistics, preparing financial, operational, and technical reports.  A valid class 5 Driver’s License is required.

A combination of relevant education and related experience may also be deemed an acceptable equivalency.  An acceptable Criminal Record Check is required.

Starting salary for this position is $86,972 per annum, plus a Nunavut Northern Allowance of $27,600 per annum. Housing is not provided.
