Resilient communities may be characterized as those that have an abundance of physical, economic, social, cultural, and environmental assets, in addition to adequate infrastructure and effective governance. This ensures that the basic needs of all community members are met, and that the community is able to adapt and respond to internal and external stresses.
Proposals that are designed to contribute to resilient communities may include, but are not limited to, those that address community safety, social cohesion, recreation, health and wellness, food security, education, arts and culture, and environmental stewardship.
