Iqaluit, Nunavut – October 16, 2017 – The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is launching “It’s our vote,” a campaign to encourage Qikiqtani Inuit to take active part in Nunavut’s 2017 election.

“We want Qikiqtani Inuit to get active in the territorial election and get informed about the issues that impact our communities,” says QIA President P.J. Akeeagok, “it’s our homeland, our future and our vote.”

The aim of the campaign is to encourage voter turnout and provide Qikiqtani Inuit with some of the tools they need to make informed choices on October 30, Election Day.

In the upcoming days QIA will be launching various election related material on our social media pages and website for the “It’s our vote” campaign.

The campaign will include a bi-lingual video series that will highlight a number of key election issues for Qikiqtani Inuit.
