Under the direction of the Director of Social Policy, the Programs Manager oversees the strategic and coordinated delivery of QIA’s social and cultural programming. The Programs Manager manages the delivery of programs under the Benefits Fund Policy and coordinates the work of the Benefits Fund Committee. The Programs Manager is the principle contact for all programs funded by QIA as well as third party funded programs delivered by QIA and collaborative programming initiatives. The Programs Manager reports on the Benefits Fund Policy and provides advice on issues related to social and cultural programs and policies. This position will support QIAs commitment to plan, develop, and deliver programs for Inuit.
The Programs Manager supports and advises the Director of Social Policy, the Policy Analyst, and other DSP staff in their work representing QIA in multi-stakeholder working groups and committees, in order to maintain coordination of program commitments that may arise from territorial or national strategies or action plans where QIA is a participant.
The successful candidate will likely possess a university level bachelor’s degree, certification for project management, previous social policy employment. A combination of experience and education will also be considered for this position. Additionally, office administration and the various associated technologies including internet use, data, file, and information management systems are required; strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; with the ability to apply this proficiency toward using Microsoft Project is expected.
